City Square Runway 1- David Jones

Midday today marked the beginning of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and with the Spring Racing Carnival just around the corner, David Jones stole the runway with this years amazing race wear by designers such as Willow, Camilla and Marc, Thurley, Carla Zampatti, Josh Goot and Zimmerman, just to name a few.

Hosts Emma Freedman and Jesinta Campbell

Knee length hemlines, cap sleeves and cinched in waists seemed to be a winning dress trend and the matching suit was a hit in floral prints and rich colours.

Colours that will be seen all over the race track this season are bright vibrant colours such as turquoise, fuchsia and tangerine and softer pastels.

Prints were bold, one in particular that caught my eye was an under the sea print on a dress by Scanlon and Theodore. Floral print was predominant and lace gave a feminine touch.

Headwear gave a ‘Great Gatsby’ vibe, modernised with embellishments, scarves and bright colours.

Steer clear of silk or suede shoes and stick to patent shoes as they are easier to clean and won’t stain.

I can’t wait until Wednesday when I attend Runway 2 of the Designer Series. Watch this Space. x

Rainbow Hair Craze

‘Balayage’ and ‘ombre’ hair seems to be everywhere. Myself, being someone who has fallen in love with this hair trend, but another hair trend that has started to make its way into the fashion/ hair world is bright/pastel coloured hair, and boy is it hot! My favourite being lilac coloured hair. If only I didn’t have a boring office job…

Crushing on Pastel…. EVERYTHING!

Pastels are one of the hottest current trends that I am totally loving at the moment. They are so fun, especially colour blocked. Why wouldn’t you love them?

My sister recently returned home from two weeks in Thailand (totally jealous as she came back with an amazing tan) and brought with her a truck load of different coloured nail polishes (win), majority of them being pastel. I thought I’d test some out and as a result I am currently rocking rainbow pastel nails (seen below), which have gotten quite a lot of compliments over the past few days. They are so fun, just looking at them make me happy 🙂

To add to these fabulous coloured nails are two of my favourite accessories right now…

Me on my birthday with one of my best friends, Bethany. I am wearing my Pastel Candy Twist Collar Necklace from Diva and Purple Pastel Shirt Dress from Mossman (which was a fab find, only $50!).
